Outdoor Sessions for Visitors

Sometimes the most powerful breakthroughs happen far away from home.

Facilitated by Dr. Salvia Artman, a licensed psychologist, these sessions are designed for visitors to the island seeking a meaningful and perspective-shifting experience during their time here. Each session takes place outdoors on Hawai‘i Island, where lava fields meet the ocean and forest trails open into the sky. This environment naturally cultivates self-awareness, broadens perspective, and supports the kind of reflection that fosters insight and personal growth. We might walk a lava trail to a remote beach in the early morning, kicking off our shoes to feel the sand beneath our feet, or head uphill through native forest in the afternoon to take in sweeping views of the coastline.

Session Themes

Sessions can accommodate individuals, couples, or small groups. Whether you come solo or with others, each session theme is shaped to reflect your unique experiences, needs, and intentions.

Ocean Anxiety:
Learning to Feel More Confident in the Water

As both a psychologist and a freediver, I draw from therapeutic tools and real-life experience to support you in navigating ocean-related anxiety in a safe and grounded way.

The ocean can illuminate how fear and vulnerability live in the body, and it can also teach us how to stay steady even when we feel uncertain or not fully in control.

Although we’ll stay on shore during this session (walking the beach and maybe dipping our feet in), the tools and insights we practice will support you in feeling more confident in the ocean, whether you're playing in the waves, snorkeling above the reef, or exploring deeper waters.

Setting Out on New Paths:
A Field Guide for Life Transitions

Sometimes stepping outside helps you see what’s happening inside with more clarity. Whether you’re navigating the end or beginning of a relationship, a change in work, a new identity, or another life chapter, we’ll walk together in a natural setting that offers space for reflection, fresh perspectives, and finding new paths forward.

Designed for anyone facing a life change and wanting to find steady footing in the changing tide.

Co-Regulating with the Ocean:
A Nervous System Tune-Up

This guided session takes place at the ocean and offers a grounded, experiential way to understand and care for your nervous system.

As we move through a coastal landscape, you’ll explore how stress shows up in your body and what helps you regulate in real time. You’ll learn and practice tools that support clarity, steadiness, and adaptability.

You’ll leave feeling more grounded, more present, and more in touch with how to support yourself when life speeds back up.

Designed for anyone navigating chronic stress, overwhelm, burnout, or just a desire to ride out the waves without getting pulled under.

Creating Who You Want to Be:
A Nature-Based Session for Personal Growth

This session centers on the idea that we don’t “find ourselves,” we actually get to create ourselves. Together, we’ll explore what habits or stories you want to leave behind and what values or qualities you want to grow into.  With nature as a reminder that change is part of life, we’ll set out to find new possibilities and clarify steps that will carry your growth forward.

Designed for anyone ready to dive into new ways of being.
